toscanaVolterra, with its monuments and museums, can be reached in 10 minutes while, by taking the SS 68, San Gimignano is 20 minutes away. Florence, Siena and Pisa can be reached in under an hour while the Cecina coast is 40 minutes away.
The roads
are scenic and there is little traffic, even in the middle of summer. Volterra in the summer is filled with events such as the medieval festival, concerts and shows. Do not miss the Etruscan museum and shops displaying objects created by the alabaster (stone typical of the area) craftsmen.

Take the FI. PI. LI. dual carriageway towards Florence. Exit at Pontedera - Ponsacco and follow the signs for VOLTERRA.
After passing Molino D'Era, continue on the SR 439 to the turnoff for Roncolla, following the signs for Colle Val D'Elsa.
On reaching the turnoff, take the SR 68 towards Colle Val D'Elsa and after about 2 km - after the turnoff the Mazzolla - at km 44, you will find the entrance on the left. 

autostradaFrom the A1 Milan – Bologna - Florence motorway

Exit at Firenze Impruneta. Take the dual carriageway towards Siena and exit at Colle di Val d'Elsa nord. After Colle Val D'Elsa, head towards Volterra on the S.R. 68.
After passing through thevillage ofCastel San Gimignano, continue on the SS 68 to km 44: the entrance is on your right.

From the Parma/La Spezia motorway

Exit at Pisa centro-Aeroporto. Continue on the FI. PI. LI. dual carriageway towards Florence. Exit at Pontedera - Ponsacco and follow the signs for VOLTERRA.
